A sizzling good time for ST fund beneficiaries

09 December 2024

Nine-year-old Emily Ho Hui Xuan (in black) tried cooking for the first time during a programme organised by Tokio Marine, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, at Anatta Culinary Academy on Sentosa on Dec 9. The insurance company also presented a cheque for $10,000 to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF). Apart from cooking meatballs, STSPMF beneficiaries learnt how to bake gingerbread cookies. A Primary 3 pupil like Emily gets $65 a month from the fund that gives pocket money to children from low-income families. Since 2000, the fund has helped over 220,000 children and youth in need, disbursing over $100 million.
